Counsellors offer a free and confidential personal counselling service to current enrolled students. Personal counselling provides students with an opportunity to speak to professional counsellors about personal issues affecting their wellbeing.

In addition, the Counselling unit holds a range of workshops and groups including relaxation and stress management. Counselling is a confidential and free service for GOTAFE students.They assist students with any issues that may affect their wellbeing or ability to study or work. Where possible we see students on the day if the matter is urgent.

What we do...
listen to you and treat you with respect
work together with you to help you resolve any problems that are impacting on your wellbeing, study or work
assist you to develop skills to help you succeed in your studies (e.g. ways to manage anxiety)
support requests for extensions or deferred exams when personal issues affect your studies
provide you with information and/or referral to other services when specialised information or support is needed
