Mediation and Ombudsman Support: Mediation
Dispute Settlement Centre Victoria (DSCV) staff may also offer to contact the other person and invite them to participate in mediation with you.
DSCV staff will then conduct a full assessment with everyone involved to see if the dispute is suitable for mediation. This whole process can be done over the telephone or in person.
Mediation involves a meeting conducted by a trained and accredited impartial mediator to help in trying to resolve your issues with the other person.Mediations are confidential and participation is voluntary for all participants.
Mediations are very successful in resolving disputes, with 85% of mediations at DSCV ending in agreements.
