The Food Security Network is focused on improving healthy food access, particularly for children and families in Benalla.
It provides a space where local agencies, community groups and community members can network and share ideas about how to improve healthy food access.
It is also a way to create new partnerships between people in the community.
Ideas include:
* Linked community gardens
* Food swaps where excess food is available
* "Small Plates" project
* Awareness of other "healthy food" programs
* Knowledge of where to buy healthy food locally e.g Benalla Fruit Market (free delivery on Thursdays to pension card holders - minimum orders of $12 - cash on delivery) Call 5762 5441
